Dr Janne Coman is a specialist Anaesthetist who has public appointments at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital as well as the Mater Adults and Mother’s Hospitals in Brisbane. She also works privately at a number of other Brisbane hospitals including St. Andrews, The Wesley, Brisbane Private Hospital, and Mater Private Hospital.
She completed her primary medical degree in Ireland in 1991 and a Diploma in Child Health in 1994, also in Ireland.
Dr Coman undertook her postgraduate anaesthetic training in Queensland and completed her residency at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 2003. She was admitted as a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2004 after a fellowship year at the Mater Hospital Brisbane.
She contributes to the teaching of trainee anaesthetists both in theatre and through tutorial programs. She has been involved in teaching medical students during their anaesthetic term as a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
Her areas of special interest include paediatrics, obstetrics, bariatrics, and pre-operative assessment clinics.
